Free from preservatives and SLS, Bain & Savon only use natural ingredients that are suitable for vegans, with no animal testing.

Solid shampoo bars blended with Shea butter and containing natural oils to nourish and hydrate your hair naturally.

A healthy alternative to commercial shampoo, free from chemicals and of course without a plastic bottle!

Key Ingredients: 

Seaweed Powder is a rich source of vitamins including vitamins B12 (not found in land plants), vitamin E, amino acids, minerals, trace elements, and other nutrients. It makes for an effective cleansing and exfoliating agent.

Peppermint acts as an astringent, normalising both dry and oily hair. When applied to oily skin or scalp it helps reduce any excess oil. An oily scalp can lead to greasy hair, and the peppermint helps to regulate your scalp’s oil production and eliminate the grease. Peppermint oil can also soothe skin irritations and relieve pain and itching. This makes it ideal for those who have dry or irritated scalps.

Nettle increases blood flow to your scalp. It also oxygenates your hair follicles and strengthens hair fibres, promoting healthier, shinier, fuller hair. It is also used to treat dandruff.

Solid shampoo bars are more concentrated than normal shampoos.

Lather the shampoo bar in your hands and apply the foam to your hair and wash as you would a liquid shampoo. Rinse and repeat concentrating on getting your whole head and scalp washed.

You may need a vinegar rinse afterwards, it will balance the Ph (soap is alkaline and our skin is slightly acidic). It will help remove any residue and leave your hair shiny.

TRANSITION PHASE

When you first switch to our natural shampoo bars, you may go through what is called a “transition phase”. During this time your hair may feel oily, and feel it has a waxy residue on it.

Conventional shampoos and conditioners contain silicone to make your hair feel soft and look shiny. These products leave residues that natural products find hard to remove.

Conventional shampoos tend to remove your natural oils causing your scalp to react and over-produce oils to compensate. So because natural shampoo bars are more gentle it may take time for your scalp to adjust to a new washing method.
